One Country Statement on May CPI Report

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, One Country Project issues the following statement after the release of the May CPI report:

“In a positive turn of events, inflation has slowed more than expected in May. Month-over-month inflation did not change for the first time since July 2022, thanks to falling prices for gas and energy and flat grocery prices. For rural Americans, who are disproportionately impacted by fuel prices as they make longer commutes, this news will be a welcome relief. Cuts in retail prices, combined with last week’s robust jobs report, make for a strong U.S. economy and help reduce costs of living. We hope these trends continue and provide greater financial certainty and security for American families.”
