One Country Statement on November 2022 Jobs Report

WASHINGTON, D.C.  Today, One Country Project founder Heidi Heitkamp issued the following statement after the release of the November jobs report:

“Today’s jobs report shows the progress the U.S. economy is making towards balancing strength and stability. This November, 263,000 jobs were added to the economy. 750,000 manufacturing jobs and a total of 10.5 million jobs have now been created since President Biden took office – more than any administration in history at this point in a presidency. The gains were slightly lower than the 284,000 additions see in October, proving that legislation such as the Inflation Reduction Act and the Biden administration’s efforts are working to stabilize the economy after a swift recovery from the pandemic.

“Meanwhile, the unemployment rate remained near record lows – good news for working families across the country, especially at a time when average incomes continue to rise. This combination of positive factors is relieving pressure on everyday Americans’ pocketbooks. As we look ahead, the incoming Congress must preserve existing legislation while furthering efforts to create an economy that works for American families across the country.”
